Rockin’ Independence Eve is returning on July 3, 2018! More details are coming soon, but check out last year’s event for more info:
Celebrate America’s birthday early at the fifth annual Rockin’ Independence Eve, presented by Partlow Insurance, in Old Town Winchester on Monday, July 3 from 5:00-11:00 pm. Rockin’ Independence Eve is a free, family-friendly event offering live entertainment and a fireworks display. The Taylor Pavilion in Old Town will host the bands and a beer and wine garden. Admission into the pavilion is free and beverages sales benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters.
“We are really excited to be part of this free, All-American community event,” said Michael Partlow with Partlow Insurance, the presenting sponsor. “Rockin’ Independence Eve features entertainment and activities for everyone in the family and we hope that coming downtown for this event becomes a part of everyone’s Independence Day traditions.”
In addition to great music, Rockin’ Independence Eve will host activities such as corn hole, a Snow White Grill burger eating contest and various activities and vendors along the Old Town Winchester Walking Mall.
No celebration of our nation’s independence would be complete without the booming explosions of a colorful fireworks show. The fireworks begin at approximately 9:15 pm. For best visibility, watch the show on North Kent Street between Piccadilly and Boscawen Streets. The rooftops of the City parking garages will be closed during the event. Viewing the fireworks show from the garage rooftops is prohibited.
Live music featuring local favorite, Souled Out, will be held at the Taylor Pavilion between the Loudoun Street Mall and the Braddock Street Autopark. Opening for Souled Out is Shag, a band with a British Rock vibe. Space is limited and concert attendees are encouraged to bring seating.
The Loudoun Street Mall will also feature a variety of street performers, including a caricaturist, balloon artist, face painting, stilt walker, and an assortment of acoustic performers for the whole family to enjoy!
