Mark your calendar now to celebrate New Year’s Eve at First Night Winchester!
This is the largest, safest, family-friendly, non-alcoholic, budget-friendly, non-profit New Year’s Eve celebration in the Shenandoah Valley. We offer entertainment for nearly every age and taste: musicians, dancers, arts and crafts, magicians, comedy, and more…
The festivities begin at 10AM in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and run the entire day throughout Winchester. The chapel at The Village at Orchard Ridge will host Reptiles Alive. The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum, the Handley Regional Library, the Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury Abbey, the Winchester Book Gallery and the Espresso Bar & Café will all offer live performances.
Many Old Town Winchester churches–Braddock Street United Methodist Church, Christ Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and Market Street United Methodist Church will showcase their fabulous interiors as they welcome the community and performers into their sanctuaries and social halls. Members of the Winchester Model Railroad Club look forward to inviting families in their doors to show off their model train display.
We countdown the end of 2018 with our Apple Drop and welcome 2019 with a spectacular fireworks display at Midnight! Buttons are $10 each; children 10 and under are FREE. Buttons will be on sale for ten days only–December 21st-31st at the following locations: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, Apple Blossom Mall, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester Book Gallery and Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center.
