The Bluemont Summer Concert Series continues this Friday, July 24th with a performance by the Circa Blue. The concert will take place on the steps of the 1840 Frederick County Court House at 7:30 PM.
Band Bio: Circa Blue is the perfect description of what the band represents. They are “about” bluegrass — not completely traditional, not completely contemporary. They write a substantial portion of their material, and any covers they do are made their our own via arrangements and our own interpretations. Good music is good music, regardless of its origin!
Circa Blue is known for their tight vocal harmonies, clean instrumentation, and creative arrangements. The band released their debut CD, recorded at Echoes Recording Studio, in February 2012. The self-titled album features five original tunes and five covers performed with Circa Blue style.
The band features Steve Harris on guitar, Teri Chism on upright bass, Matt Hickman on banjo, and Wayne Lanham on mandolin, and Malia Furtado on fiddle.
While there are no advance ticket sales, requested admission for the events is $5 per person, $4 for Bluemont Friends & Seniors, and $2 for kids under 12. Bluemont is also raising money to support their year-round projects in our local schools, nursing homes, and summer evenings.
