A taste of Germany is returning to Old Town Winchester October 13 & 14 with the 5th annual Oktoberfest. Attendees will sample Bavarian-inspired food, beer and wine while experiencing music and entertainment reminiscent of the classic world famous Oktoberfest in Germany. This event was formerly known as the Old Town Winchester Octobeer Fest.
Explore our beer and wine garden, featuring local breweries; Winchester Brew Works, Alesatian, Escutcheon, and Winchester Cider Works and their Oktoberfest style beers. You will also be able to sample beer from famous breweries from around the United States, plus award winning German classics like Paulaner.
Back by popular demand, two high-energy bands will be returning this year. Enjoy the high energy modern Oktoberfest sounds of, The Continentals, a band with a wide repertoire specializing in different ethnic styles of polka and waltz, and Bavarski, playing everything from Chicago-style Polish polka to rockin’ Oktoberfest party music. Also, featured on Saturday is Alt Washingtonia Schuhplattler Verein the “Original Bavarian Dance Club of Washington, D.C.”
There will also be street performers, accordion players, a beer stein holding competition and experiences for both children and adults! Over 30 costumed professional Bavarian dancers will again bring fun entertainment for the whole family. Everyone is invited to compete in the Best Dressed Lederhosen and Dirndl Contest on Friday night with the top prize of an overnight stay at the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown!
