Friday Night Live! is returning for 2018 on June 15, July 20, and August 17! More details are coming soon, but check out last year’s event for more info:
Unwind and enjoy all that Old Town Winchester has to offer at the 5th annual Friday Night Live. This great community event is the perfect opportunity to meet up with friends, shop, dine and enjoy great live music, street performers, and artisans. The Loudoun Street Walking Mall will be filled with music and activities and the Taylor Pavilion will be the main venue for musical performances every third Friday in June, July and August.
“Regional bands are the focus at this year’s three Friday Night Live events and the Taylor Pavilion is the perfect venue to listen to some great music this summer,” says Jennifer Bell, Downtown Manager.
August’s event will have a country theme featuring the return of Thom Shepherd and Coley McCabe. Thom Shepherd is the writer of five #1 singles including “Redneck Yacht Club” recorded by Craig Morgan, “Riding with Private Malone” recorded by David Ball, and Kyle Park’s “The Night is Young,” to name a few. Opening for Shepherd is Bud’s Collective, a popular bluegrass band from West Virginia.
Explore and shop at more than 60 unique businesses ranging from apparel, jewelry, boutiques, art galleries, museums and more. Prior to the event, attendees can dine at any of the 35 restaurants located in Old Town Winchester. There will also be a beer and wine garden available prior to and during the performances.
In addition to the live music at the Taylor Pavilion, the Loudoun Street Mall will also be filled with entertainment. Acoustic music and street performers will create an entertaining atmosphere up and down Loudoun Street. “It’s sure to bring smiles to people of all ages,” adds Dario Savarese, Event Coordinator.
WHEN: Fridays, June 16, July 21 and August 18
TIME: 5:00 – 11:00 pm
WHERE: Old Town Winchester Loudoun Street Mall and the Taylor Pavilion
In June, Friday Night Live featured Dynamo, an up and coming funk/jazz/rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, who have been described as the next Snarky Puppy. June’s opening act was local favorite, Threesound, who just came off of an incredibly successful second album release.
July’s event welcomed the return of the 70’s to Winchester with local legend, The Robbie Limon Band. Specializing in performing the most authentic covers of iconic classic rock songs, listening to Robbie Limon is like taking a stroll down memory lane. Award winning and crowd drawing, this band is not an act to miss. Opening for Robbie was Phil Kominski, an acoustic musician playing all your favorite songs, simplified down to one guitar.
