Country music superstar Patsy Cline called Winchester her home for many years at 608 South Kent Street. The historic home will once again play host to the Patsy Cline Block Party on Saturday, September 1st from 10am to 4pm.
The event is held in honor of the legendary singer’s birthday, September 8, 1932. The house museum is where she lived from 1948 to 1953 and off and on through 1957 with her mother, Hilda Hensley, and her brother and sister.
Music will run from 11 am through 4 pm and will include a DJ, small bands, singer-storyteller, sing-a-like performers, and young artists. Food trucks and antique cars will also be on site. Patsy’s daughter, Julie, will make a special guest appearance.
This event is free and open to the public. Attendees are asked to bring chairs to the event. For more information, call 540-662-5555. Tours of the historic house will take place during the block party at a reduced rate, so don’t miss out!
