OTW Farmers Market

May 12, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

The Old Town Winchester Farmers Market at the Taylor Pavilion will open for its fourth season on Saturday, May 12 offering delicious local produce each Saturday from 9:00 am-1:00 pm through September 29. A dozen farms and vendors, many new and some favorites returning, will offer a wide variety of items for sale including in-season vegetables, artisan breads, cookies, cheese, grass fed beef, gluten free bread, cured meats, jam, eggs, honey and many other items (produce and items for sale vary each week with what is in season). All items were grown or produced within a 60-mile radius of Winchester with the exception of maple products from Pennsylvania which is within a 100-mile radius. New items this year include fresh kettle corn and lemonade shakers, as well as handmade chocolates.

This year opening day will offer entertainment, giveaways, and more. There will be free large Old Town Winchester tote bags for the first 50 customers. Megan Triplett, this year’s Virginia Horticulture princess will be attending the kick off for the Old Town Farmers Market May 12, 2018.  Megan grew up on Hedgebrook Farm, a Century Farm located in Frederick County, Virginia and an original farm to the Old Town Farmers Market. Megan is a freshman at James Madison University.

Entertainment

MOMENTS, a small ensemble composed of 7 Clarke County High School students, will be performing jazz music. They will play arrangements of songs by a popular NYC brass band known as Lucky Chops starting around 11:30. Their style is a combination of Jazz and Pop, with melodies and featured solos being passed around throughout each song. The members include: Madison (senior) — tuba, Olivia (freshman) — bari saxophone, Miguel (senior) — trumpet, Emily (junior) — drum set, Evan (senior) — alto saxophone, Thomas (freshman) — trombone and Sean (senior) — trombone.

Downtown Parking

Parking in the adjacent Braddock Autopark allows patrons easy access to the market and is only a short distance away, convenient for carrying goods. Restrooms are available during market hours in the Braddock Autopark. Parking for patrons at meters in Old Town is free on Saturdays.
