Grab a blanket and enjoy a movie under the stars! Each Thursday a family-friendly film is shown on a gigantic movie screen on the lawn of the 1840 Frederick Country Courthouse. The series is a quintessential summertime tradition in Old Town Winchester offering a great opportunity for families to enjoy some time together.

This week’s film is “Monsters University“.

Movie goers are encouraged to come downtown early to have dinner at one of Old Town Winchester’s fantastic restaurants, check out the unique shops or just take a walk to see the beautiful Loudoun Street Mall.

Films are shown on Thursday nights beginning at dusk, around 8:30-9:00 pm.  People start to claim their spots on the lawn as early as 7:00pm. Movies play except in extreme weather. In the event of rain, the movie will be shown the following Tuesday in the same location at the same time. Movies on the Mall is coordinated by the Winchester Parks and Recreation Department.
