Artscape 2018 is now on display on the Old Town Winchester Pedestrian Mall. This year includes 35 pieces of art created by regional artists and sponsored by local businesses.
Stroll the Loudoun Street Walking mall and enjoy art by local artists of all ages and varying styles. The program, which is a cooperative effort between the City of Winchester and The Shenandoah Arts Council with support from the Old Town Development Board, is in its ninth year of showcasing the works of local artisans to enrich Winchester’s historic district. The show is also made possible through the support of a Virginia Commission for the Arts, Local Challenge Grant.
In 2009, the Shenandoah Arts Council and the Old Town Development Board joined together to launch ArtScape in Old Town Winchester in an effort to celebrate our arts community, to showcase our very talented regional artists and to brighten and enliven Winchester’s historic downtown district.
Artisans of all ages, both professional and emerging artists, are invited to participate in the juried annual competition. It is the only public art project of its kind in the entire Commonwealth of Virginia. ArtScape in Old Town Winchester is made possible by the sponsors, generous contributions of Winchester businesses, private citizens and the arts community.
