Come celebrate Customer Appreciation Day at the Old Town Farmers Market at the Taylor Pavilion on Saturday, August 12th. The event will coincide with the Virginia and National Farmers Market Week, which highlight the key roles that farmers markets play in our local communities. The market vendors and staff would like to say “Thank You” to patrons for supporting the market by offering a day full of exciting activities, giveaways, shopping specials, live music, and more!
Old Town Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Taylor Pavilion. The market has numerous vendors who offer a wide variety of items including in- season produce, gourmet mushrooms, farm eggs, gourmet cheese, pastured chicken, grass fed beef, handcrafted soap and much more. The market’s goal is to provide fresh, local food and agriculture products directly from farmers and producers to residents, while creating an enjoyable atmosphere that contributes to a prosperous downtown and promotes a sense of community in Old Town Winchester.
Customer Appreciation Day will kick off with an Old Town Winchester tote bag giveaway. At 9 a.m. the first 100 people to stop by the market information tent will receive a free tote bag. The stylish tote bags are perfect for holding an abundance of produce and also feature the signature Old Town Winchester logo.
At 10 a.m., free coloring activities will be available for children at the market information tent and games will be available on the Taylor Pavilion lawn.
At 11 a.m., a market favorite, The Dilettantes, will perform on the Taylor stage. Trudy and Jeff Roth of the Dilettantes are an acoustic duo from Charles Town who have been performing in the West Virginia panhandle area for years in a variety of venues. Their choice in music is an eclectic mix of folk, pop, and rock-and-roll, including the songs of Joni Mitchell, John Prine, Linda Ronstadt, The Beatles, Dylan, and many more, with a handful of originals thrown in.
After the Customer Appreciation Day event the fun will continue into the night at the Taylor Pavilion. The Valley Reads Finale host by Handley Regional Library will start at 3:30 p.m. where they will be awarding prizes to those who read the most during their summer reading program. Then to end the night, enjoy a free movie under the stars when Magic Lantern Theater screens the classic Citizen Kane at approximately 8:30 p.m.
