The 2017 ArtScape banners will be hung in Old Town Winchester the week of April 17th. For the first year there will be banners on Boscawen Street as well as on Loudoun Street. The 2017 Artscape original artwork will be on display at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in collaboration with Old Town Winchester and the Shenandoah Arts Council starting April 19th.
Since 2009, the Old Town Development Board (OTDB) and the Shenandoah Arts Council (ShenArts) have partnered and collaborated to bring an outdoor gallery to the historic downtown area of Winchester. Additional support is provided by the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Artists of all ages are invited to participate in this juried art competition, with selected artwork being reproduced on banners that will then hang on the light posts throughout the downtown area from April through December.
“The Artscape Program is partially supported by funding from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts through a grant to the City of Winchester.”
