Join The Laurel Center Intervention for Domestic and Sexual Violence for the Second Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes®: The International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence on April 8, 2017.
The Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® Event is a playful opportunity for men to raise awareness in the community about the serious causes, effects and remediation to men’s sexualized violence against women. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® asks men to literally walk one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes.
Everyone is encouraged to walk – men, women, students, and children. Walk in heels, walk in flats, or walk with a sign. No matter which way you choose to walk; walk with a purpose.
The after-party and awards ceremony will be held at Brewbaker’s Restaurant immediately following the walk.
Adults – $35
College and High School Students – $15
Teams of 5 – $150
Minimum Fundraising Amounts:
$5 or you can bring your own shoes.
Your registration includes a T-shirt (if registered by March 24th), admission to the after-party at Brewbaker’s and two drink tickets (house beer or wine). There will be music and prizes for the prettiest shoes, most at home in heels, highest individual and team fundraisers and more!
When you register, create a donation page and forward to your friends, family, and other supporters. You may win the prize for the highest fundraiser!
Teams are encouraged! A team can be your family, friends, coworkers, anyone! Make it fun – wear coordinating shirts or shoes, make signs, or bring your non-walking supporters to cheer you on. Each team member is encouraged to create his or her own fundraising page. The team with the highest fundraising total will win a fabulous prize!
