10AM-Midnight: Ring in the New Year at First Night Winchester in historic Old Town! This is the largest, family-friendly, non-alcoholic New Year’s Eve celebration in the Shenandoah Valley. We offer entertainment for every age: musicians, dancers, bubbles, reptiles, magicians, comedy, and more…
Our event takes place because of the generous support of the following sponsors: Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury, McDonald’s, The Village at Orchard Ridge, City of Winchester, The Bayliss Wealth Management Group, Consolidated Electric, W.O. Grubb Crane Rental, Piccadilly Printing, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia Commission for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The festivities begin at 10AM in the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley and run the entire day throughout Winchester. The chapel at The Village at Orchard Ridge will host Reptiles Alive. The Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum, the Handley Regional Library, the Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury Abbey, the Winchester Book Gallery and the Espresso Bar & Café will all offer live performances.
Many Old Town Winchester churches–Braddock Street United Methodist Church, Centenary United Church of Christ, Christ Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church and Market Street United Methodist Church will showcase their fabulous interiors as they welcome the community and performers into their sanctuaries and social halls. Members of the Winchester Model Railroad Club look forward to inviting families in their doors to show off their model train display.
