Interest Blooms for Old Town Farmers Market

OldTownFarmersMarket_FinalLogoWINCHESTER, VA – The Old Town Farmers Market at the Taylor Pavilion will open on May 16 offering 14 different farm and food vendors to shop from each week. There will be 13 regular vendors on a weekly basis and three vendors who will attend on a rotating basis. The vendors will offer a wide variety of items for sale including in-season fruits, vegetables, artisan breads, cookies, cheese, grass fed beef, gluten free bread, cured meats, jam, eggs, honey and many other items (produce and items for sale may vary each week). All items were grown or produced within a 60-mile radius of Winchester.

Four of the vendors are downtown businesses: Winchester Art Market (WAM), Steamy’s Café, Leroy French Bakery and Nourish.

The Old Town Farmers Market will be held Saturdays, May 16-October 31, 9:00 am-1:00 pm at the Taylor Pavilion. Restrooms will be available in the Braddock Autopark during market hours. “The idea for a vibrant downtown market came from City Council and with the support of the City Manager, our planning efforts have moved forward rapidly,” states Jennifer Bell, Downtown Manager. “The Taylor Pavilion area was designed by the Economic Development Authority with a community marketplace in mind and we are thrilled with the community support we have seen for the market so far.”

Parking for patrons at meters in Old Town Winchester is free on Saturdays. Parking in the adjacent Braddock Street Autopark is only $.50 per hour. The Braddock Autopark allows patrons easy access to the market and is only a short distance away, convenient for carrying goods.

Over 20 vendors applied to the market so a wait list has been created with the hopes of adding more vendors as it becomes feasible to do so.
