Friday, May 15th:

Robbie Limon LIVE in The Half Note Lounge: Robbie Limon performs in the 70’s era singer/songwriter style at the George Washington Hotel’s Half Note Lounge from 8pm to 10pm.

DJ Skyhigh at Brewbaker’s: Come dance the night away at Brewbaker’s in our pub area to DJ Skyhigh! No cover charge! Must be 21+ to enter after 10 pm.

Saturday, May 16th:

KidzFest: Kidzfest is returning on May 16th, 2015 on the Old Town Walking Mall! The family-focused event features musical performances along with interactive activities for children of all ages. Free activities and engaging exhibits will line the walking mall. Inflatable moon bounces and games will add to the level of fun! Kids will get a chance to get their hands dirty with various arts and crafts activities and musical educational exhibits. Kids will also learn about animal care and have a chance to adopt pets!

Old Town Farmers MarketThe City of Winchester’s Old Town Farmers Market will run Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., May 16 through October 31. The goal of the Old Town Farmers Market is to provide fresh, local food and agriculture products directly from farmers and producers to residents, while creating an enjoyable atmosphere that contributes to a prosperous downtown and promotes a sense of community in Old Town Winchester.

There will be 13 regular vendors on a weekly basis and three vendors who will attend on a rotating basis. The vendors will offer a wide variety of items for sale including in-season fruits, vegetables, artisan breads, cookies, cheese, grass fed beef, gluten free bread, cured meats, jam, eggs, honey and many other items (produce and items for sale may vary each week). All items are grown or produced within a 60-mile radius of Winchester.

The market will be located at the Taylor Pavilion at 119 N. Loudoun Street, just steps from the Loudoun Street Mall.

Armed Forces Day: The Winchester Book Gallery will salute all of the men and women in all branches of the service on May 16th by offering veterans a discount of 25% off all books to celebrate Armed Forces Day.

Book Signing: Lindsay Detwiler – Voice of Innocence: The Winchester Book Gallery will host author Lindsay Detwiler for a book signing from 11am to 1pm.

Historical Cemetery Tours: Come join us as we take you on a journey through the past at two historical cemeteries tucked away in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. The tours begin at Winchester National Cemetery and continue at Stonewall Cemetery. You have the option of touring one or both cemeteries. $8.00 per person for one tour, $15.00 for both tours. Book Signing: Peg Crompton – Me & My Dogs: The Winchester Book Gallery will host author Peg Crompton for a book signing from 2pm to 4pm.

National Preservation Month Celebration at Handley LibraryTwo concurrent programs, one for children and one for adults, will take place on Saturday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m.  Sandra Bosley, Executive Assistant for Preservation of Historic Winchester, will give an illustrated talk for adults on the businesses and buildings associated with the city’s railroad history.  Also at 2:00 p.m., there will be a separate program for children in grades two through five led by Youth Services librarian Jennifer Sutter.  The program will feature train stories, train songs, a model train, and a chance for youngsters to learn about Winchester’s railroad history and about railroad crossing safety.  

Haunted Pub Crawl: Ghost Tours Old Town Winchester Virginia presents a Haunted Pub Crawl every Wednesday and Saturday night. Visit local haunts including 147 North, V2, The Half Note Lounge, Brewbaker’s, The Cajun Experience, Cork Street Tavern, and the Bright Box Theater.
