2014 ArtScape in Old Town Winchester Banner Entries Now Being Accepted

Shenandoah Arts CouncilEach year the Old Town Development Board and Shenandoah Arts Council present beautiful works by local artists as part of their Artscape Banner project.  The project creates banners of the artwork and displays them in Old Town Winchester  to “create an outdoor gallery experience for all visitors, tourists to home town folks, while strolling the beautifully renovated Old Town Pedestrian Mall.”

The arts council is now calling for entries for the 2014 ArtScape banners. “We invite artisans five to ninety-five years of age to participate in this juried art competition,” the SAC states. “Selected artwork will be reproduced on banners that will then hang on the light posts throughout the downtown area April through December, 2014. Submissions will be juried by a panel comprised of professional artists. Some of the artwork selected will be by artisans 18 or younger; a majority will be from professional and emerging artists. The artwork will be professionally photographed and digitally transferred directly onto vinyl banners. The artist’s work and name will appear on both sides of the banner.”

The deadline to apply for the 2014 ArtScape in Old Town Winchester banner project is January 15, 2014 at 5pm. Entry forms can be found here: Adult Registration Form, Kid Registration Form.
