First Friday: On the First Friday of every month, Old Town Winchester plays host to artists with special gallery events, musicians playing in restaurants and cafes, and many of our shops stay open late. It is a great time to stroll our historic streets and a great place to meet new and favorite friends. Every month is something a little different. First Fridays is sponsored by the Old Town Winchester Business Association, Shenandoah Arts Council, Virginia Commission of the Arts and the Old Town Development Board. Guided Civil War Walking Tour: Experience the Civil War as a civilian in Old Town Winchester on Friday, August 2nd with a special guided walking tour! Learn about the citizens and the events that took place in Winchester during that stirring period of time. The tour begins at 6pm. Bluemont Summer Concert Series Presents: Furnace Mountain: The Bluemont Summer Concert Series continues this week with a performance by Furnace Mountain. The concert takes place on the steps of the 1840 Frederick County Court House at 7:30 PM this Friday. Read more.
Book Signing: MaryAnn Austin: Author Maryann Austin will be holding a special book signing at the Winchester Book Gallery on Saturday, August 3rd from 11am to 1pm. Austin will be signing and speaking on her new book In the Land of the Cotton, a novel which reaches its climax and conclusion in Winchester. Read more.
eM Restaurant Grand Opening!: Old Town Winchester’s newest restaurant eM is having it’s grand opening this weekend on Saturday, August 3rd. Exhibition Opening and Artist’s Reception at 1 Lb. Gallery: The 1 lb. Gallery will be opening a new exhibit by photographer Kerri Lane this Friday, August 2nd from 6-10pm.
