Scotty McCreery Named Grand Marshal for 2013 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival

Scotty McCreeryShenandoah Apple Blossom Festival President Lou Ann Thompson has announced that “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery will be this year’s Grand Marshal of the 86th Celebration of the Blooms. McCreery won the in 2011 at just 17 years old, and now at 19, he will be one of the youngest Grand Marshals in the history of the Apple Blossom Festival.
Since his big break on television, the country music singer has released two studio albums: Clear as Day and Christmas with Scotty McCreery. His single, “I Love You This Big,” reached 11 on the US charts and was certified Gold.

Held in Winchester, Virginia, the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival is a series of more than thirty events that take place from April 26th to May 5th. The family-friendly celebration includes band competitions, dances, parades, carnival, dinners, luncheons, a 10K Race, the Coronation of Queen Shenandoah, Firefighters’ events, and celebrities.
