Bright Box Theater Celebrates Apple Blossom Festival with Weekend of Events

The Bright Box Theater is all set for the Apple Blossom Festival with a film showing and performances during the annual event. Located on Old Town Winchester’s Loudoun Street Pedestrian Mall, the new venue will be celebrating their first Bloom festival since the theater opened, so it’s sure to be a blast.
Beasts of the Southern WildMagic Lantern Theater Presents: Beasts of the Southern Wild:

On Thursday, May 2nd, the Magic Lantern Theater will be screening the film “Beasts of the Southern Wild” at 7pm. The PG-13 film runs for 93 minutes.

Plot summary from Faced with both her hot-tempered father’s fading health and melting ice-caps that flood her ramshackle bayou community and unleash ancient aurochs, six-year-old Hushpuppy must learn the ways of courage and love.
Admission: $8/person (MLT members: $5); wine, beer, sodas, popcorn available.


A Night of Bluegrass from Legends and Up-and-Comers:

Larry Keel & Natural Bridge will headline “A Night of Bluegrass from Legends and Up-and-Comers” on Friday, May 3rd.

Larry Keel is described by some reviewers as the most powerful, innovative and all-out exhilarating acoustic flatpicking guitarist performing today. Keel has absorbed the best lessons from his Bluegrass family upbringing, both sides deeply steeped in the rich mountain music culture and heritage of Southwest Virginia.The night will kick off with up-and-coming folk sensation Stephen’s Hollow.

Admission is $17 in advance, $20 at the door.

Bright Box Three Legged FoxAn Evening of Reggae Rock and Experimental Jamtronica:

On Saturday, May 4th, the Bright Box will host “An Evening of Reggae Rock and Experimental Jamtronica,” featuring Three Legged Fox and DELTAnine.

Three Legged Fox released Always Anyway in summer of 2011. Since then they have committed to bringing their live show and message to every city in the United States, including a current nine week Spring/Summer tour.

DELTAnine is a ensemble of producers from Baltimore, MD. that have an endless devotion to creating jamtronica music. Their combined sound is derived from years of different musical projects, DJing nightclubs and house parties, proficiency with multiple acoustic and electronic instruments, and the acquired knowledge of electronic music production.
Admission is $12.50 in advance, $15 at the door.
