Author’s Forum

The Friends of Handley Regional Library presents Author’s Forum 2012  Wednesday, November 14, 2012. The Friends’ premiere event will be held at Handley Library in downtown Winchester.  The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a discussion by the panel members of their recently published books. These brief presentations will be followed by questions from the audience.  This year’s forum truly has something for every reader.

The authors for this year’s event are:

AFfaggbwLawrence W. Fagg, talking about his book, Electromagnetism:  Nature’s Force That Shapes Our Lives.  Dr. Fagg has a Ph.D. in physics from Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s Degree in Religion from George Washington University.

 

 

jerryhcropbwJerry W. Holsworth, talking about his books, Stonewall Jackson and Winchester, Virginia and Civil War Winchester.  Jerry is currently an Archives Assistant in the Stewart Bell Jr. Archives at Handley Regional Library. He has a master’s degree in American Studies from the University of Dallas.

 

Gail Huntley, talking about her memoir, Blunt Force Winds. Gail has a BA in English from San Diego State University and a Master in Education from Shenandoah University.  She retired from teaching in 2011.

 

 

ETrindalbwElizabeth S. Trindal, talking about her biography, Mary Surratt: An American Tragedy. Elizabeth attended the University of South Carolina.  She is past president of the National League of American Pen Women, Valley of Virginia Chapter.

 

 

The moderator for this event is Trish Ridgeway.  Trish is the Director of Handley Regional Library.  She will be celebrating her 20th year as the director in 2013.

This year’s forum offers something for every reader.  A reception and book signing will follow the program.  This event is free and open to the public.
