The fifth annual Worldwide Photo Walk is coming to Old Town Winchester this Saturday, October 13th, starting at 1pm and wrapping up at 4pm. The event is part of a larger worldwide social event, where people in over 1,000 cities will be getting together to take pictures and share them at the end of their walk. From there, the best photos will be picked and prizes will be awarded.
The event is free and open to photographers of all levels. The Old Town Winchester Photo Walk will begin at the Old Court House Civil War Museum and will meet after the walk at the Daily Grind Coffee House. Participants are asked to sign up via the Worldwide Photo Walk website.
Here are a few safety tips from the organizers:
- Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes as the Pedestrian Mall has areas of cobblestone
- Bring bottled water and a light jacket as the weather cools in the evening; bring your sunscreen!;
- Parking is available on street (free on the weekends) and in three parking garages close by
- Please keep in mind if you bring tripod/monopod that weekends are very busy on the Pedestrian Mall with walkers, diners, family groups and constant activity.
