Happening This Weekend

This weekend holds tons of great events, including First Friday’s Art Walk, carriage rides, live music, and more.  Come get into the holiday spirit in Old Town!

Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides:  As part of Old Town Winchester’s First Friday event, take a horse-drawn carriage ride!  Rides start at the Christmas tree in front of the Courthouse on Loudoun Street Mall and run from 5pm to 8pm.  Donations will be accepted.

Shenandoah Arts CouncilFirst Fridays Art Walk: On the First Friday of every month, Old Town Winchester plays host to artists with special gallery events, muscians playing in restaurants and cafes, and many of our shops stay open late. It is a great time to stroll our historic streets and a great place to meet new and favorite friends. Patsy Cline Historic HouseChristmas at Patsy Cline’s House: The Patsy Cline Historic House will be giving special tours this weekend.  Located at 608 South Kent Street, the house will be decorated for Christmas as it would have been during the time the country superstar lived there.  Tours will be given December 2nd and 3rd from 10am to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm.  For more info, call (540) 662-5555.

George Washington's Office MuseumHistoric Candlelight Tours and Open Houses: Three of Winchester’s most significant historic sites – Stonewall Jackson’s Headquarters, Abram’s Delight, and George Washington’s Office – will be holding candlelight tours and open houses this weekend to help celebrate the season.  Get a glimpse into lifestyles of the past that shaped our nation today!  The museums will be open December 2nd from 7pm to 9pm and December 3rd from 1pm to 5pm.  Click here for more info.

Santa's HeadquartersSanta’s Headquarters at the Godfrey Miller House:  Santa Claus will be taking a break from his busy schedule to visit with children in Old Town Winchester at the Godfrey Miller Fellowship Center this Friday and Saturday.  The event will give kids a chance to meet jolly old St. Nick while parents take their own photos and videos. Children can also create a keepsake, as well.  Santa will be taking visitor on Friday from 5pm to 7pm and Saturday from 11am to 1pm.  Admission is free!

Holiday House Tours: This weekend, visitors will be able to tour the gorgeous historic houses of Old Town Winchester as part of the 35th Annual Holiday House Tour, put on by the non-profit organization Preservation of Historic Winchester.  Each home is decorated for its time period as well as the holiday season.A preview party and candlelight tour will take place Saturday December 3rd from 6pm to 9pm, with daylight tours taking place Sunday the 4th from 1pm to 5pm.  Click here for more info.
