Handley Library Offers Free Genealogy Course

Handley Regional LibraryThe Handley Regional Library will be offering free introductory genealogy courses on September 7th and 21st.  “The Art of Genealogy—How to Begin” will be held in the Benham Room on the lower level at Handley Library in downtown Winchester and will be taught by the staff from the library’s Stuart Bell, Jr. Archives.

  • 9/7 @ 6:30 p.m.:  Jerry Holsworth, Archives Assistant will lead the class, Beginning your Family Tree.  This lecture will cover Family Records, Marriages, Deeds, and Wills.
  • 9/21 @ 6:30 p.m.:  Joan Wood, Archives Assistant will present a class on Census Records and Online Searching.

The classes are co-sponsored by The Friends of Handley Regional Library. They are free and open to the public.  To reserve a seat, call (540) 662-9041, Ext. 17.
